The site TestSquad.org made an effort to determine which was better - IBM Rational Robot or HP (Mercury) QuickTest Professional. About the IBM Rational Robot, it noted good object recognition; quality playback and recording; that the robot could solve custom object problems by adding objects to a class map; that it required Test Manager to see detailed test logs; data pools were supported; test scripts could be shared; the SQABasic scripting was simplified and other scripting languages were available; and that an authorized user licensed and twelve month support cost approximately $4,700, while the same package with a floating user license cost approximately $9,000.
Qualities noted about the HP (Mercury)QuickTest Professional were that it had good object recognition; quality playback and recording capabilities; detailed reporting; available VB scripting only; script sharing was only possible with Quality Center; data pools were supported; and pricing information was not yet available.
